LIGHT, BLOOD & SKY
A film by Elijah Celayo
Shot on 16mm film and iPhone, and captured entirely in the haunting landscapes of Chihuahua, Mexico, Light, Blood & Sky is a meditative fever dream — an ambient film that drifts between memory, longing, and divine confrontation.
Blurring the sacred and the profane, the film follows a lone young man as he moves through empty fields, and dreamlike corners of Mexico — seeking redemption, haunted by visions of women he’s loved, and listening for the voice of a God who may never speak again.
Influenced by the raw textures of Harmony Korine and the spiritual weight of Tarkovsky, Elijah Celayo crafts a cinematic prayer stitched together by light leaks, broken glass, whispered prayers, and old songs on the radio. Every frame pulses with absence and grace.
This is cinema stripped to its bones: no dialogue, no exposition — just light, blood, and sky.
